America is the Incarceration Nation.
The way we treat our formerly incarcerated citizens takes a huge toll on our communities and economy. We have long been faced with the question of how to reintegrate former offenders into society.
Jobs are the answer.
Education is the answer. Housing is the answer. Fair chances are the answer. Help us eliminate hiring, housing and education barriers for Arizonans who have been to prison. Join the movement. Together we can enact real change in our state and our country.

By signing the Fair Chance AZ Pledge,
your business or organization is joining others across the state in committing to providing second chances to all Arizonans. You agree to give fair consideration to all job, housing, or education applicants, ensure that information regarding an applicant’s criminal record is considered in proper context, and engage in review practices that do not unnecessarily create barriers for Arizonans with criminal records.
You also agree to participate in a bi-annual survey to help us measure fair chance efforts and successes for Arizona businesses, organizations, and former inmates. We encourage you to share your commitment and stories with other business owners and community leaders in your community too. Thank you for helping us Reinvent Reentry. |

People deserve a fair chance"Certainly, by providing individuals coming out of institutions with ways to become productive citizens, we reduce recidivism. What that means is we reduce crime. There are fewer victims when individuals have options - when they have job skills, when they have life skills, we break the cycle of children following their parents into institutions." - Attorney General Loretta Lynch |
